Nigeria is better off with Lagos than with the Niger Delta- Emir of Kano says

In a post on his IG page, Emir of Kano, Sanusi Muhammad II says Nigeria is better off with Lagos than with the Niger Delta region. He wrote;

"The Lagos story is a story of what Nigeria can do with itself – transparency, consistency, regulations. That’s why today Lagos state is 30% Nigerian non-oil GDP, and Lagos can do without oil. This country is better off with Lagos than with the Niger Delta. Let’s not make that mistake. We should be together as a country.
Every part of the country is important. But, let us not be so obsessed by a resource, because we have had the commodity driven model, and we are blind to the potentials of an alternative model. Lagos doesn’t need oil. What is oil anyway? It is a raw material. You don’t drink it. You need it to move your vehicles. Now, you have electricity. You need it to fill your generator. Now you have solar power, and biomass. The future of oil is not there. So, those few people who are trying to break up this country over oil, after sometime that oil will be worthless. - Muhammadu Sanusi iI

Donald Trump finally gives his plan for dealing with Isis in clear detail (& he makes no sense)

US Presidential candidate Donald Trump for some time now has been talking about his plans to defeat ISIS and expunge the terror organization once he is elected to be president.

At first during an interview this week with NBC on National security when he was asked how he intends to defeat ISIS, he replied that he doesn't want 'our enemies'  to publicly hear his ideas. But he has finally given ideas on how he plans to deal with the group.

Billionaire Trump's answer came after retired Army Lt. General Michael Flynn asked him to expand on the four components of his national security strategy, naming them ‘military, cyber, financial and ideological. But Trump's answer was really vague.

This is what Trump answered (in full):

'Well, that’s it. And you know cyber is becoming so big today. It’s becoming something that number of years ago, short number of years ago, wasn’t even a word. And now the cyber is so big, and you know look at what they’re doing with the internet.' 

'How they’re taking recruiting people through the internet. And part of it is the psychology because so many people think they’re winning. And you know, there’s a whole big thing. Even today, psychology — where CNN came out with a big poll. Their big poll came out today that Trump is winning. 

'It’s good psychology, you know. It’s good psychology. I know that for a fact because people that didn’t call me yesterday, they’re calling me today. So that’s the way life works right?'

As schools all over Niogeria are about to resume for a new session, Nollywood actor Prince Eke ponders on the expensive fee of schools owned by churches. According to him:

"How can a church own a school and the poor can't attend it...? How can you be teaching people how they can make it to the kingdom of God when they can't enter your own earthly 'kingdom', built with people's tithes and donations...? How can Christian schools be the most expensive schools in Nigeria now...? How can one relate this to the term "Christianity" with regards to the "Early Christian Community" ? 

Note: Most of the good people in the world now have nothing to do with christianity, just like most Christians are far from it too.  Another academic session, and parents are paying through their noses to send the kids back to school.  A word will always be enough for the wise! Happy a nice day!"

Police release shocking photos of overdosed parents with child in backseat

Ohio police posted shocking photos of a couple in the middle of a heroin overdose with their child in the backseat. Officers in East Liverpool City conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday after they received a report about a Ford Explorer with a West Virginia plate driving erratically and weaving in and out of lanes.
When Officer Kevin Thompson approached the vehicle, he found the driver, James Acord, in a bad state and his speech was "almost unintelligible". Thompson also noticed the passenger, Rhonda Pasek, was completely passed out in the front seat. Thompson believed that Acord was trying to explain that he was taking Pasek to the hospital.

It was then that the 4-year-old boy was discovered in the backseat of the car, later identified as Pasek's son. The boy's presence made the department to share the images of the couple slumped over in the front seat in "order to show the other side of this horrible drug".

"The city Police department recently responded to a call of an incapacitated driver, attached are photos from the scene along with the actual police report. The city administration works hand in hand with our men in blue to combat this epidemic and together with the law director we have made the decision to release the attached.

We feel it necessary to show the other side of this horrible drug. We feel we need to be a voice for the children caught up in this horrible mess. This child can't speak for himself but we are hopeful his story can convince another user to think twice about injecting this poison while having a child in their custody. 

We are well aware that some may be offended by these images and for that we are truly sorry, but it is time that the non drug using public sees what we are now dealing with on a daily basis. The poison known as heroin has taken a strong grip on many communities not just ours, the difference is we are willing to fight this problem until it's gone and if that means we offend a few people along the way we are prepared to deal with that."

The child has been placed with a family friend. Accord and Pasek are facing criminal charges.

According to Morning Journal, Accord, 47, pleaded no contest on Thursday to driving under the influence and endangering children and was sentenced to 180 days in jail and a fine of $475.

Pasek, 50, pled not guilty to charges of endangering children and disorderly conduct, as well as seat belt violation.

Iraq's national football team is still without a point in Russia 2018 World Cup qualification as they’ve lost their first three matches which include defeats to Australia (2-0), Saudi Arabia (1-2) and Japan (2-1) and face a must win home match against Thailand in their next qualifier game.

In order to qualify for the World Cup they decided to perform the most bizarre, fetish and strangest of practices on Tuesday as they slaughtered a sheep publicly as a 'sacrifice to god' so that luck and good will could befall them in their next home game against Thailand- because according to the team, except God acts, it's impossible for them to qualify for Russia 2018.

 

In 2011, Turkish team Sivasspor slaughtered a sheep before a game with a Serbian team and won 4-1. In Iraq the practise is seen as an ancient and trust worthy one.
